The FSCS declared Brooklands in default as the company entered Administration, a result of claims against them from clients who invested their pension in unregulated investments through their Pension. After failing in 2016, Brooklands Trustees Limited was taken over by Heritage Pensions Ltd, having again moved more recently in 2021 to PSG SIPP Limited. Through the takeover, PSG acquired all members of the Heritage SIPP including the Brooklands SIPP, the Saltus SIPP and the International Expat SIPP.
The Financial Ombudsman Service ruled against Brooklands in several complaints from SIPP clients who invested their pension in an unregulated investment through their Brooklands SIPP Pension. The clients were referred by an unregulated introducer firm FCP Insurance Consultants based in Cyprus who were not authorised to give pension or investment advice. Unregulated high-risk investment Harlequin Property is just one of the failed investments passed along through the SIPP providers following each takeover.
If you were introduced by an unregulated party including FCP, or advised to move your pension into any of the above named pensions by a financial advisor, including unauthorised advisors such as Tailor Made, you may be in a position to make a claim for pension switching or failed / failing investments.
