Renewable Energy Waste Solutions, ‘REWS’: A failed and unregulated investment

Investment

Renewable Energy Waste Solutions UK Plc, also known asREWS’, has gone into administration and you may be entitled to a claim for compensation.

REWS was incorporated on 27 February 2017 and entered administration on 2 December 2022.

At CP FINANCIAL Claims, we have acted and are continuing to act for clients in winning claims for compensation relating to these losses.

REWS was originally set up to fund the creation of a waste recycling facility and acquired £2.8 million from investors. The facility was due to become operational by the end of 2018 but this did not happen. The company blamed delays in the delivery of components that delayed the commencement of operation of the plant. Subsequently, the company borrowed another £10 million from investors. The fundraising was achieved by issuing bonds. Funding was in the form of 2 year bonds paying 8% -12% per year and 4 year bonds paying 10% - 12% per year. According to an article published by Phoenix on 26 September 2019, “a total of £13.2 million was outstanding to creditors”.

Whilst these bonds were unregulated, you may have invested with the assistance of a regulated firm, in which case you will be entitled to claim to compensation through the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

SOME of the Regulated Firms through which you may have invested:

  • Amio Wealth Limited (an Appointed Representative of) Consero Capital LLP
  • Amyma Ltd (an Appointed Representative of) Equity For Growth (Securities) Limited

You may also have invested into REWS directly via their website rewsuk.com, however, if you did, there is likely no claim due to there being no regulated party involved!
